Woman And Manatee Appear To Hold Hands In Magical Moment Caught On Camera

For Kay, a longtime Tampa Bay resident, true peace comes from the water.

About five years ago, she discovered her “happy place” at E.G. Simmons Regional Park—a serene, lesser-known location she now visits weekly with her paddleboard.

"This enchanting spot is truly manatee paradise, and I feel incredibly fortunate to have experienced countless encounters with these gentle giants," shared Kay.

One manatee, in particular, has made a lasting impression.

She named her Paddle after noticing the animal seemed to recognize her during her regular visits.

"Her gentle gaze convinces me she remembers our bond," explained Kay.

Although Kay cherishes her manatee moments, she’s careful to respect their space. She always reminds others through her posts that she never initiates contact or approaches the animals—Paddle simply chooses to visit her.

Kay’s videos have captivated millions of viewers, especially animal lovers who can’t help but feel a little envious.

While many joked about how it’s illegal to touch manatees, plenty admitted they’d gladly risk a fine—or even jail time—for a chance to share a moment like hers.

"You must be an incredibly good person for this to happen to you!" one viewer commented.

"Can’t touch the manatees”… but what if they hug me?!!!" another wrote.

"My cell mate- 'what are you in for?' Me- 'cuddling a water puppy' 😂," another joked.
