Being Anonymous Is The *best* For Random Acts Of Kindness

Many years ago sitting next to a woman in the car repair shop, we chatted and she shared how her car had broken down and she was a teacher and didn’t know how she would be able to pay for the repair.
It struck me.
My car was ready first and I paid for her repair ($500+) as well. I never looked back at her and to this day it makes me smile, beyond that I helped her that day but she did not know who did this. I’m sure she shared her story over the dinner table that night. And then some.
When you do good things anonymously, the recipient will mentally work at spreading and attributing the kindness to others, wondering who did this?
