Mother's Day

By A Friend • May 15, 2025

On Mother’s Day - as a single Mum to a young adult with high support needs disabilities - it’s usually a day that passes by without much thought.

This year my sister who lives interstate organised a beautiful flower delivery, my brother who lives in the city sent a card, but the most beautiful surprise was delivered to my front door. A former workmate had dropped off a bag of lovely items including chocolates and a plant.

The extra special thing about this gift is that this young woman has just returned from visiting a specialist hospital interstate to see what else could be done for her as she lives with a life limiting medical condition that is progressing.

That, whilst everything that’s going on in her life she thought about me is just so beautiful and so much who she is. The world needs more like her.
